Using the module’s sample import function, it’s easy to customize your palette and build any sound you can imagine. Each pad assignment provides three layers that can include any combination of internal sounds or external samples.

The V31 features a built-in Roland wireless adapter that links with your network, letting you audition and download sound content directly via the Roland Cloud Connect app on a mobile device. You can update the module wirelessly, making it simple to stay up to date with the latest system software. Connect and expand.
With the V31 module’s multi-pin jack and wiring harness, pad connections are quick, clean, and efficient. There are also two analog trigger inputs for optional crash or trigger pads, plus a dedicated input to upgrade your setup with a high-resolution digital snare, ride, or hi-hat pad used in pro-level V-Drums kits. You also have a stereo output for sound monitoring, a headphone jack for quiet practice, and an analog mix input for a music player or Roland percussion pad.
Multi-channel audio and MIDI.
The V31 features an integrated USB audio/MIDI interface for communication with DW Soundworks, the V31 Editor, and other music software. The USB connection makes multitrack recording easy, allowing you to capture up to 30 audio channels in your DAW over a single cable. There’s also a traditional MIDI output for triggering external sounds and sending sync signals to MIDI hardware.

Our groundbreaking technologies make the impossible possible, allowing you to play without restraint at any time—while others who can’t see you will never know you’re drumming at all.
The VQD106PADS kit is the same as the VQD106 model without the module and connection cables, allowing you to add the compatible V-Drums module of your
choice. With this bundle, the Roland V31 Module is included.
A revolution in home drumming.
Roland V-Drums are already some of the quietest electronic drums available, thanks to years of research and development, precision engineering, and the ability to monitor with headphones. Yet even standard V-Drums can sometimes be too loud to enjoy. The physical noise of striking pads may be bothersome to others in your living space. In addition, kick and hi-hat pedals transfer low-end thumps and vibrations to the floor that resonate through the structure to create audible noise in other rooms.
Enter V-Drums Quiet Design. While they may look like conventional V-Drums, every component is infused with important innovations to make them purposefully
quiet. Carefully engineered pads and hardware dramatically reduce the volume of playing noises while sound-absorbing materials isolate all your kinetic
drumming energy to prevent its escape into adjoining spaces.
Engineered for quiet performance.
Making V-Drums even quieter has involved painstaking research into sound transmission and construction materials, plus the development of all-new techniques to overcome the problem of drumming noise. Detailed testing in special facilities has revealed that the VQD106PADS V-Drums Quiet Design kit reduces noise by an astonishing 75 percent compared with a conventional V-Drums kit. The kick and hi-hat are incredibly smooth and quiet, and stick hits on the pads produce in-room sound levels similar to an average conversation.
Ultra-responsive snare and tom pads.
Despite all their advanced noise-reducing features, the snare and toms in the VQD106PADS kit deliver the great stick feel and natural rebound you expect from top-tier V-Drums pads. The PDQ-8S and PDQ-8 pads are built with a noise-absorbing honeycomb rubber insert covered with a mesh head. Specially placed vents on the underside of the playing surface allow air pressure to dissipate, further reducing noise. The PDQ-8S snare provides independent head and rim triggering, plus a soft rubber covering on the rim for quiet rimshots.
Articulate cymbal pads with natural motion.
The VQD106PADS kit includes three versatile CYQ-12 cymbal pads with honeycomb rubber, mesh covering, and venting like the snare and tom pads. In addition, plastic parts are isolated with rubber materials to eliminate vibrations. In the crash and ride positions, the CYQ-12 provides independent bow and edge triggers, natural swinging motion, and the ability to mute the cymbal by grabbing it. In the hi-hat position, the pad is paired with the FD-9 control pedal for detailed response and ultra-quiet operation.
Satisfying kick pad and beater.
The KDQ-8 kick pad delivers the satisfying “thud” every drummer wants—while keeping the sound confined within your headphones. The eight-inch playing surface supports single and double kick pedals and features a dense triple-layer cushion covered in a double-ply mesh material. This is housed in a floating frame to reduce vibration and noise transfer. Four rubber feet provide stability and further isolation, while the included KDB-Q-W quiet beater* has a specially designed round head that minimizes contact noise when striking the playing surface.

Noise-isolating stand and pedal bases.
Our innovative stand and pedal bases complete the V-Drums Quiet Design experience, keeping the remaining clicks, thumps, and vibrations from transferring to the floor and other rooms in your living space. Special hemispherical rubber feet on the stand isolate pad noise, while the dedicated NEQ-K and NEQ-H bases for kick and hi-hat pedals also have special rubber foot designs to keep foot stomps contained. The bases have been newly developed for the V-Drums Quiet Design series, evolving on the design of our popular NE-10 Noise Eater product.

The VMH-D1 delivers long-wearing comfort with large memory foam earpads and a cushioned headband that let you play non-stop for hours. Along with their comfortable fit, the earpads provide excellent isolation to keep acoustic pad noise and outside distractions from reaching your ears. Soft and attractive, the synthetic leather covering offers moisture-wicking properties to reduce slippage and keep the phones from moving when working up a sweat.
Tangle-Free Drumming
Typical headphones keep you tethered with a short cable that always gets in the way, making it easy to dislodge the phones or pull them off your head entirely during intense drumming sessions. The VMH-D1’s extra-long 3 m/10 ft. cable provides plenty of slack for an efficient module connection that keeps it far away from your arms and legs while playing. There’s also a cable restraint at the back of the headphones to route the cable behind the head and onto the floor behind your drum throne.

The VMH-D1 comes with a hanger accessory that provides a convenient home to stow your phones when you’re done drumming for the day. It features a rugged plastic design and urethane grip that attaches to various pipe sizes on drum and cymbal stands. And with the prominent red “R” on the right earcup, you can easily see the correct orientation when it’s time to put on the phones and play again.
