The V31 sound module features the same flagship-grade engine as the V71 and V51 modules, delivering rich, multi-sampled onboard sounds and a seamless transition to DW Soundworks software for computer-based drumming. Premium sound

Included as part of the VAD316 kit is the V31 module. This is part of a unified ecosystem with the V71 and V51, providing full cross-compatibility across V-Drums modules for the first time. In developing the V71 module for the acclaimed V-Drums 7 Series, we built an entirely new onboard sound library in collaboration with Drum Workshop (DW), bringing unmatched realism and creative command to V-Drums. The V31 module is equipped with the same internal engine as the V71, giving you the identical sounds and expansion path in a streamlined interface. Crafted from a hand-picked selection of the world’s finest drum sets, these record-ready sounds deliver the detail, punch, and sonic quality found in the most expensive computer collections.

The V31’s kits come ready to play, allowing you to experience world-class sounds with the turn of a dial. To add a personal touch, press the EZ Edit button to quickly change up kick and snare sounds, adjust pitch and damping, balance drum and cymbal levels, and more. If you want to go even further, dive into the module’s deeper editing tools or use the V31 Editor on your Mac or Windows computer.

New sounds, on demand

You can freely change up the sound set within the V31 module to keep your music fresh. Open the Roland Cloud Connect app on your mobile device to access a growing range of V-Drums Instrument Expansion titles via your wireless network. Then, find the sounds you want, download them directly to the module, and start drumming immediately. Drum sounds exist in two distinct universes. One is the intimate, up-close sound of the drums when you’re behind the kit. The second is the produced sound you hear in recordings and live concerts, which is typically processed with EQs, compressors, and ambience. Some V-Drums Instrument Expansion titles have been specially mixed for both the drummer and producer positions, letting you create the playing experience you want at the touch of a button.

Wireless freedom

The V31 features a built-in Roland wireless adapter that links with your network, letting you audition and download sound content directly via the Roland Cloud Connect app on a mobile device. You can update the module wirelessly, making it simple to stay up to date with the latest system software. Bluetooth audio/MIDI is also available, allowing you to jam with songs on your phone, play along with video lessons, and more.

Connect and expand

With the V31 module’s multi-pin jack and wiring harness, pad connections are quick, clean, and efficient. There are also two analog trigger inputs for optional crash or trigger pads, plus a dedicated input to upgrade your setup with a high-resolution digital snare, ride, or hi-hat pad used in pro-level V-Drums kits. You also have a stereo output for sound monitoring, a headphone jack for quiet practice, and an analog mix input for a music player or Roland percussion pad.

Multi-channel audio and MIDI

Use the module’s integrated USB audio/MIDI interface to communicate with DW Soundworks, the V31 Editor, and other music software. And when you’re ready to dive into computer music production, you can capture up to 30 audio channels in a DAW over a single cable.

The VAD316 kit includes the PDA120LS snare that offers outstanding playability with advanced sensors and a shallow-depth wood shell for an acoustic look.  

Rock-solid kick drums

Roland kick pads deliver that deep, satisfying “thud” every drummer wants—while also keeping in-room noise in check. The KD-18-BK in the VAD316, gives a full-depth wood shell and an innovative pad sensor system built into an acoustic drumhead for authentic feel and rebound. It supports single and double pedals, and comes with the KDP-5, a replaceable patch that slows wear and allows you to use a plastic, wood, or felt beater.

Responsive toms

The VAD316 kit includes two 10-inch rack toms and a 12-inch floor tom with shallow-depth wood shells, taking playability even further.

Expressive hi-hats and cymbals

The VH-10 V-Hi-Hat in the VAD316 kit mounts on a standard hi-hat stand, providing a traditional acoustic playing feel with natural rebound, smooth tonal variations, and support for foot splashes and other techniques.

DW Bass Drum Pedal

The DW Drum Workshop 3000A Series Single Bass Drum Pedal (DWCP3000A) is an upgraded take on a classic, delivering smooth action, solid durability, and tour-ready reliability for today’s working drummer. Designed to meet the evolving needs of modern players, the 3000A features an accelerator-style cam for increased speed and power, while retaining the trusted stability and build quality that DW’s 3000 Series is known for.

At the heart of the DWCP3000A is a dual-chain Accelerator™ drive, which shortens the length of the stroke to deliver a quicker, punchier response. A bearing spring rocker assembly ensures smooth return action, while the steel base plate with non-skid rubber grip locks the pedal firmly in place on any surface. It also includes DW’s versatile 2-way beater, giving players the choice between felt and plastic striking surfaces for tonal flexibility.

Heavy-Duty Hi-Hat Stand With Low-Noise Pedal

The RDH-120A helps V-Drums users keep acoustic noise and vibration in check without sacrificing playability. This professional hi-hat pedal delivers top-level performance and feel with a dual-chain drive and smooth bearing hinge assembly. And with onboard noise-reduction features derived from Roland’s acclaimed Noise Eater technology, the RDH-120A reduces in-room playing noise and minimizes vibration transfer that can bother housemates and neighbors in adjoining rooms and floors below.

Sturdy Snare Drum Stand

As the centerpiece component of your kit, the snare drum requires a rock-solid foundation that stands up to the most intense playing sessions. The RDH-130 delivers what you need, with double-braced legs and a mounting basket that accepts snare drums and pads from 8 to 14 inches in diameter. It’s perfect for all V-Drums sets that require a snare stand and works with nearly all V-Pad models, and includes two clips for keeping connection cables secure. And with fully adjustable height and tilt, the RDH-130 easily adapts to all ages and playing styles.
